Wednesday's Women's Basketball Game Against Winthrop is Think Pink Night

ASHEVILLE, N.C. ? The UNC Asheville-Winthrop women's basketball game at Justice Center on Wednesday, Feb. 6 has been designated as "Think Pink Night" to help the Women's Basketball Coaches Association initiative in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond, as well as raise funds for breast cancer research. The Big South Conference and corporate partner Crocs, Inc will outfit all Big South women's basketball coaching staffs with pink Crocs? shoes for their respective “Think Pink” basketball games from Feb. 2-16. For the UNC Asheville-Winthrop game, all Bulldog Athletic personnel working the game will be wearing pink Crocs.
UNC Asheville plans to recognize cancer survivors, raise money for the Kay Yow Foundation with donations at the door, and auction off Coach Betsy Blose's pair of Crocs.
“We are really looking forward to being a part of this Think Pink initiative,” commented UNC Asheville coach Betsy Blose. “All of us know somebody who has had to battle this disease and it's important for us to do all we can do to win the fight against breast cancer. We're excited about doing our part on Wednesday night at UNC Asheville.”
