HIGH POINT, N.C. - Ashley Johnson scored four minutes into overtime to give Radford a 2-1 win over UNC Asheville in the quarterfinals of the 2008 Big South Conference Tournament at Panther Field.

The Bulldogs (5-13-1) had tied the game 1-1 in dramatic fashion to send the game into overtime. Trailing 1-0, sophomore Katy Beeler scored at 89:06 when she lifted a shot over Radford goalkeeper Lisa Lubke. It was Beeler's second goal of the year and it was unassisted.

Radford (12-1-6) had broken a scoreless tie at 83:41 when Johnson scored her 11th goal of the year off an assist from Latrice Lee to put the Highlanders in front, 1-0.

It looked like Radford would win 1-0 before Beeler's dramatic goal with 54 seconds left in regulation knotted the match.

But in the 94th minute, Jill Boyer sent a pass to Johnson in front of the box and she tapped it into the goal to send Radford into the semifinals with a 2-1 victory.n The Highlanders will play VMI in Friday's semifinal match.

Radford out-shot Asheville 19-7 and had nine corner kicks to two for the Bulldogs. UNC Asheville goalkeeper Veronica Lazar made seven saves for the Bulldogs, including five in the first half. RU out-shot Asheville 13-4 in the first half.

The Bulldogs will not be in the semifinals of the tournament for the first time since the 2001 tourney.
