HIGH POINT, N.C. ? UNC Asheville and High Point battled for 110 minutes before settling for a 1-1 tie in Big South Conference men's soccer action Tuesday night at Panther Field.
The Bulldogs (5-7-3, 3-3-1 BSC) and Panthers (7-6-3, 2-2-2 BSC) scored in the 15th minute and then couldn't score again.
High Point opened the scoring at 15:09 when Karo Okiomah scored his fifth goal of the year for a 1-0 Panther lead.
The lead would not last long. Just 44 seconds later, Alex Morrow scored on a header to tie the match at 1-1. The goal was unassisted.
High Point held a 15-7 advantage in shots and 7-1 edge in corner kicks. Asheville goalkeeper Lassi Hurskainen made three saves to keep the Panthers off the scoreboard.
UNC Asheville plays its final home game of the season on Saturday morning when the Bulldogs host Wofford at 11 a.m. Prior to the match, the school will honors its seniors who are playing their final home match at Greenwood Field.
