CHARLOTTE, N.C.?UNC Asheville junior libero Raquel Miotto was named Big South Libero of the Week for the third consecutive week and the fourth time this season by the conference office on Monday.
Miotto dug up 42 attacks and averaged 8.40 digs per set to help the Bulldogs to a 3-2 over then first-place High Point to give the Panthers their first Conference loss of the season. She also chipped in two kills and three assists in the match for Asheville. Miotto has three straight 30 plus dig performances and has been over 40 digs in two of her last three matches.
The Brazil native has 453 digs this season which leads the Big South. For the season, she is averaging 4.98 digs per set. She now has 1,756 career digs which is second on Asheville's all-time list. She 423 digs shy of the all-time mark.
Liberty's Kallie Corbin has been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Player of the Week in volleyball, while Megan McWhorter from Radford was tabbed the New Balance Freshman of the Week.
