Volleyball Begins Practice for 2009 Season

CHARLOTTE, N.C.?UNC Asheville junior Raquel Miotto is this week's Big South Libero of the Week as announced by the conference office. It is the second time this season Miotto has won the award.

 

A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Miotto collected 62 digs in three matches averaging 5.64 digs per set. She had the match-high in digs in all three matches for the week beginning with 22 digs against Presbyterian. She then recorded 26 digs at Radford and 14 digs at Liberty to finish the week.

 

Gardner-Webb's Laura Wilcox was named Freshman of the Week this week. The two award winners will face each other on Tuesday night as UNC Asheville travels to Gardner-Webb for a 7 p.m. match.
