Women's Soccer Falls to Furman, 5-1

ASHEVILLE, N.C. ? Anna Netton scored twice and Furman scored four consecutive goals as the Paladins defeated UNC Asheville, 5-1 in collegiate women's soccer action at Greenwood Field Thursday afternoon.

However, Betton scored her second goal of the game off another deflected shot from Gena Villari to put the Paladins in front for good at 2-1 at the 24:12 mark of the opening half.
The Paladins scored right before the half as Olivia Dashiell scored off a corner kick at the 44:25 mark to push the Furman lead to 3-1.
In the second half, the Paladins padded the lead early when Rachel Fry scored her second of the season off a corner kick to make it 4-1.
Emily Krankowski completed the scoring when she scored at the 63:05 mark. Betton and Villari were awarded assists on the play.
“We made too many mistakes against an excellent team like Furman,” commented UNC Asheville coach Michele Cornish. “We did some good things going forward but misfired on some scoring chances. We're going to get better.”
