DAVIDSON, N.C. - Davidson scored late in the first half and then held on from there to record a 1-0 exhibition men's soccer victory over UNC Asheville Sunday afternoon at Richardson Field.
The Bulldogs played pretty well for the most part, according to head coach Steve Cornish.
"I thought our first team performed quite well," stated Cornish. "We controlled periods of play against a fine team in Davidson. Overall, I thought we did quite well. There's still plenty to work on but I really like what our first unit did this afternoon.
UNC Asheville plays the second of its three exhibition matches at Greenwood Field Wednesday afternoon at 5 p.m. when the Bulldogs host King College.
"King College is a very good NAIA program," commented Cornish. "They will bring a high-quality program to our field. We're looking forward to the match."
