ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville head baseball coach Willie Stewart has announced that Tim Perry has been promoted to Associate Head Coach. Stewart also announced that Bob Fenn has been promoted to an assistant coach's position. He replaces Matt Reid who took the top assistant's job at the United States Military Academy last month.
"I'm very pleased to announce these two promotions," stated Stewart. "Both have done a great job for our program and richly deserve these new duties. I'm very glad to have both Tim and Bob on our staff."
Perry has been with the Bulldogs the past three years as UNC Asheville's Recruiting Coordinator and pitching coach. He recruited many of the players who helped the Bulldogs win the 2006 Big South Conference championship.
"Tim Perry is a key member of our program," declared Stewart. His knowledge of the pitching game is an amazing resource for our team. Tim does a great job recruiting student-athletes who fit into our program."
Fenn has been a volunteer assistant the past two years before moving into the Reid's spot. He has worked with the hitters and outfielders over that time.
"Bob has been very loyal to our program and worked very hard to make us better," explained Stewart. "We hate to lose Matt Reid but Bob will do a great job in his place."
