Nunnery and Correa Earn All-Conference Tennis Honors

RADFORD, Va. - UNC Asheville's Rob Nunnery and Mauricio Correa earned All-Big South doubles honors announced at the Big South's Annual Tennis Banquet held at Muse Hall on the campus of Radford University on Wednesday evening.

Nunnery and Correa paired to go 5-2 in Big South doubles play. Nunnery was also named to the Men's All-Academic Team while Rachel Rhoney was named to the Women's All-Academic Team.

Radford sophomore Martin Sayer and Liberty senior Jonita Randolph were named the 2007 Big South Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Year, respectively, by the League's head coaches and sports information directors.

High Point's Julien Antraygues was named the men's Freshman of the Year, while Antonija Bagaric of Winthrop received the women's top freshman award. Mike Anderson of Radford earned his second-straight Men's Tennis Coach of the Year honor after leading the Highlanders to the men's co-regular-season championship as RU finished 6-1 in the League and 14-5 overall. Charleston Southern's Mike Baker, who guided the Lady Bucs to a 5-2 Big South mark and an 11-8 overall record, took the Women's Tennis Coach of the Year honor.

Coastal Carolina's Richard Redding earned the Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, while Cassandra Price of Radford was named the Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second-straight year. The All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes of the Year are chosen by the sports information directors at each school.

The Big South Men's and Women's Tennis Championships begin Thursday, April 19 and run through Saturday, April 21. All matches will be played at the Dedmon Center Courts on the campus of Radford University.
