Pearson Wins 55-Meters & Takes 2nd in 200-Meters at ASU

BOONE, N.C. - Natalie Pearson opened up the Indoor Track and Field season in impressive fashion on Saturday.

The sophomore sprinter finished first in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.08. She then finished a close second in the 200-meter dash with a time 25.43.

Other highlights on Saturday included a strong performance from Corrie Trotter in the high jump. She placed fifth with a 1.57 meters. Emily Becker and Emily Bass finished tied for 10th in the mile with a time of 6:18. Emily Elstrom made her debut in the shot and finished 18th with a throw of 9.09m.

On the men's side, the highlight of the day was senior Jon Harmon finished second in the mile with a time of 4:28. Matt Holman placed third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:04.11.

Senior Omar Ahmad placed 17th in the long jump with a jump of 6.58m. Dane Corriher took sixth place in the 400 meters with a time of 50.47.

UNC Asheville is off for exams and will be in action in the new year when both Bulldog teams travel to Chapel Hill for the Carolina Invitational on Jan. 12/
