ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's and women's tennis team had another successful day on Friday at the Southeastern Indoor Championships that is being held at the Asheville Racquet Club.
The men's squad posted three wins in singles competition, while the women's team had a split in their singles matches but earned a win in the doubles competition.
On the men's side, Joseph May, Nicholas Thuell and Mauricio Correa all earned quarterfinals victories in the men's open singles division. The Bulldogs will have three players in the semifinals which will be held on Saturday.
In women's singles action, freshman Louise Bottomley posted a win to get to the semifinals, while Tania Mateva lost her match in three sets. However, Bottomley and Mateva teamed up in doubles to post a 7-5, 7-6 victory in round-robin play.
Action will continue at the Asheville Racquet Club on Saturday and there is no admission charge.
