ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's and women's tennis team posted Big South Conference victories Sunday over Liberty University at the UNCA Tennis Center. Both teams defeated the Flames, 5-2.
"I'm really excited about both of our teams pulling out tough victories today," commented Asheville coach Chase Hodges. "Liberty has two good teams and it was nice to see our teams get the victories."
On the men's side, Liberty won the doubles point but the Bulldogs took five singles matches to cruise to the victory. Julien Vulliez, Paul Ambrose, Maurico Correa, Rob Nunnery and Adam Branks all won their singles match.
On the women's side, UNCA captured the doubles points and got victories in singles from Natasha Lucki, Whitney Abbot, Lindsay Boykin and Rachel Poole to win the match.
The Bulldog men's squad improved their record to 9-2 overall and 2-1 in the league. UNCA women's team upped its record to 10-4 overall and 2-2 in the BSC.
