ASHEVILLE, N.C.--The UNC Asheville women's basketball got a win without stepping on the floor last Wednesday night. Thanks to High Point's 84-64 victory over Radford, Asheville was guaranteed the number three seed and a first round home game in the Advanced Auto Parts Big South Tournament beginning Tuesday, March 8.
The Bulldogs learned Saturday night that Radford, who has lost its last two games, will be their opponent at the Justice Center on Tuesday. Asheville split with Radford winning a three-point game in Asheville before falling in overtime at Radford.
Tuesday's tournament game will mark the second year in a row the Bulldogs have hosted a first round game. Tickets for the first round are currently on sale for $5 for general admission and $3 for students and children ages 14-17. It is also "Take a Kid to the Tournament Day" children 13 and younger will receive free admission to Tuesday's game. Coupons are available at Asheville area elementary and middle schools.
