Michael Hodges joined the Mission Sports Medicine team in 2011. He spent five years with T.C. Roberson High School before he accepted a position within the department as regional supervisor.
Michael has a wealth of diverse experience, and prior to joining Mission Sports Medicine, he spent 15 years at Mars Hill College as an instructor in the Mars Hill accredited Athletic Training Educational Program (ATEP). During his tenure, Michael was the primary athletic trainer for men’s lacrosse, and he spent six years with the women’s soccer team, 12 years with the men’s basketball team and one year as the head athletic trainer of the football team.Â
Michael earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Mars Hill College and his master’s degree in education from Western Carolina University. As a graduate assistant, Michael worked with the student athletes at Mars Hill College while also teaching health and athletic training classes at T.C. Roberson High School.
Michael lives in his hometown of Hendersonville. An avid biker, he is a member of the Mission Health Tour de Cure cycling team and likes to mountain bike. He also enjoys hiking, backpacking, playing golf, sitting outside at one of Asheville’s many cafés or diners and spending time in downtown Asheville.
