Jill Wilson joined the Bulldog Athletics staff as the Special Assistant to the Athletic Director/Major Gifts Officer on May 1, 2026.
In this role, Wilson will assist with major gift strategy, donor engagement and stewardship efforts, working closely with athletics leadership to enhance resources that directly impact the student-athlete experience at UNC Asheville.
Wilson comes to Asheville from Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she was the Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the LSU volleyball program since 2021. In addition to coaching and helping the team to a SEC Championship and seven NCAA Tournament appearances, she was involved in all facets of the program off the court as well. She played a huge part in fundraising for the program, including development of NIL and revenue share plans as well as a $250,000 locker room renovation.
Prior to her time at LSU, she was the Associate Head Coach at Ohio State where the team made back-to-back Sweet 16 Appearances in 2020 and 2021. As the Buckeyes Recruiting Coordinator, she spearheaded the effort to land the No. 3 recruiting class in the nation. Prior to her time in Columbus, she was the head coach of Virginia Tech volleyball for three years (2017-19). While leading the Hokies, she raised over $120,000 in support for the program.
She was involved in numerous American Volleyball Coaches Association committees, as well as several campus committees during her time at LSU.
A two-sport athlete at LSU, she was a member of both the indoor volleyball and tennis programs. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in pre-law from LSU.
