Bob Fenn
  • Title:
    Assistant Coach

Bob Fenn begins his third year of service to the UNC Asheville baseball program. Last summer, he was promoted to an assistant position after working as a volunteer assistant for two years.

“We’re very pleased to be able to promote Bob Fenn,” stated UNC Asheville head coach Willie Stewart. “Bob has done an excellent job working with our hitters and outfielders. We’ve done a good job hitting the ball over the past few years and Bob Fenn has been a big reason for that success.”

Prior to joining the Bulldog baseball staff, Fenn served as assistant baseball coach at his alma mater Lander University, where he supervised instruction of the corner infielders and worked with hitters. As a player at Lander, Fenn compiled impressive offensive numbers while starting 110 of possible 112 games, including every game of his senior year. His two seasons of slugging for the Bearcats landed him at third place on their all time career home run list.

In the summer of 2005, Fenn led the Wilson Tobs Organization to an impressive turnaround when he was named associate head coach mid-way through the season. The team finished as the second half champions for their division in the Coastal Plains League with Fenn’s help as hitting coordinator. In 2006, he took over the head coaching responsibilities for the Petersburg Generals.

Fenn spent his first two years of college at Iowa Western Community College where he was named first team All Conference in 2002 and was selected for the President’s Honor Roll both years. In 2001 he led his team to the NJCAA World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado.
