Andy Lapple has been hired as UNC Asheville’s new Director of the Outdoor Sports Complex, announced on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023 by Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone.
Lapple comes to Asheville after a year and a half as the Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities and Operations at Dartmouth College, where he managed the use of Dartmouth’s Alumni Gymnasium. Lapple started his time at Dartmouth as the department’s Financial Operations and Travel Specialist, working with all of the Big Green varsity sports programs.
Prior to Dartmouth, Lapple was the Athletic Contest Coordinator at Maine Maritime Academy and also the Events and Operations Coordinator at Southern New Hampshire University.
Lapple holds a Masters of Sports Administration from Ohio University (2023), a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Athletic Administration from Husson University (2020) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Colby-Sawyer College (2014).
