Marquise Brown
  • Title:
    Assistant Coach

Marquise Brown begins his first year as a jump coach with the UNC Asheville Track and Field program.

Brown comes to UNC Asheville after spending three years as a graduate assistant coach at Lewis University. He coached long and triple jumpers at Lewis and had two student-athletes earn all-conference honors with one student-athlete to a NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark in the long jump.

Brown enjoyed a great collegiate career at both Lewis and Morningside College. He was a long jumper and triple jumper at both places. Brown attended Lewis from 2002-04 and earned all-conference honors three times, twice in the triple jump and once in the long jump. In addition, he was named all-conference four different times and was a three-time NCAA Division II national qualifier. Brown also earned Division II All-American honors in the 2003 indoor season and the 2004 outdoor season.

While at Morningside, he became the school’s record-holder in the long jump for both indoor and outdoor. Brown earned all-conference honors five times during his career.

“Marquise is a great addition to our staff,” stated UNC Asheville head coach Jesse Norman. “He is someone that has experience at the highest level of competition in horizontal jumps and will be able to help us develop our student-athletes. Marquise brings experience recruiting from the Midwest. He will be in charge of our horizontal jumpers along with helping Joel Williams during the fall with our track and field athletics conditioning.”
