Overview: Talented midfielder who came to UNC Asheville in January 2006 after East Carolina dropped its program...played very well for the Bulldogs last season and was named to two all-tournament teams...should compete for Big South All-Conference honors in 2008.
2007: Played very well for the Bulldogs in midfield and finished the season as second leading scorer with three goals and seven points...tallied goal and an assist in first game of the season against IUPUI (8-31)...scored goal against Atlantic Sun champion Campbell (9-22)...scored game-winning goal against Gardner-Webb (11-7)...named to the All-Tournament team at both Kentucky Invitational and Wofford Invitational.
Before UNC Asheville: Two-year letterwinner at East Carolina who started in 14 of 16 games in 2005 for the Pirates...recorded one goal and an assist on the season...picked up goal on penalty kick against South Carolina...earned an assist against Georgia Southern...fired eight shots on the year...during 2004 season he played in eight games as a freshman and earned four starts...went to Northwood HS and lettered for years with the Chargers squad...helped lead Northwood to three straight conference championships and two berths in the state's Final Four...Northwood was 24-4-1 in Alex's senior year...earned all-conference honors as a sophomore, junior and senior...all-region as a junior and senior...tallied seven goals and 12 assists as a senior and shared team MVP honors...played club ball for Triangle Futbol Navy 85 team.
