Cheryl has been the head dance coach at UNC Asheville since the fall of 1999. Cheryl is a graduate of UNC Asheville with a Bachelor of Science in Management. Cheryl is also a former four-year member of the UNC Asheville dance team. Cheryl was also selected as captain of the dance team her junior and senior years.  Â
Cheryl started dancing at the age of three. She danced competitively for over 10 years before starting to teach a competitive company of her own. In 2000, she became owner of Asheville Dance Theater, the studio where she spent most of her dance career. The Asheville Dance Theater performing company competes both locally and nationally where they have taken home numerous best choreography, most entertaining and top overall awards. She most recently attended the Industry Dance Awards in Los Angeles where her group was nominated for Best Tap and they have won two cruises. She has attended Dance Teacher Summit two years and attends two conventions a year where she takes class from such choreographers as Mia Michaels, Mandy Moore and Travis Wall. Cheryl holds AACCA certification and is also CPR/AED certified.  Â
Cheryl currently resides in Asheville, and enjoys traveling and spending time with family.
