Jan Málek named the Big South’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville's Jan Málek was announced the Big South's Runner of the Week on Wednesday, Sept. 3. This is Málek's first time receiving the award, and he adds it to his Freshman of the Week honor from the 2023 season.
Málek led the Bulldogs at the Duel in the Valley meet last Friday (Aug. 29), outsprinting the competition to cross the line in first place with a time of 18:56. His winning performance assisted Asheville to their victory over Western Carolina University (23 points vs. 32).
The UNC Asheville cross country teams will next compete at the Furman Invitational, Sept. 13.
