ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone announced on Friday (Aug. 22) the renewal of the athletic department's partnership with Mission Sports Medicine/HCA Healthcare.
"The care provided by the Mission Sports Medicine Team to our student-athletes is unmatched," Cone said. "We greatly appreciate our partnership with Mission Sports Medicine and look forward to continuing this relationship for many years to come."
A proud supporter of athletics throughout the Western North Carolina region, Mission Health partnered with UNC Asheville in 2017 to provide its student athletes the best possible athletic training and sports medicine services. Mission Sports Medicine and UNC Asheville work together to enhance the quality of care, patient outcomes, and student-athlete experience, providing cutting-edge care in injury evaluation, management, and rehabilitation to safely return athletes to their sport as soon as possible.
Included in its partnership, Mission Health has branding throughout the athletic department's athletic facilities, including the Wilma M. Sherrill Center, and on-court logos in Kimmel Arena. Mission Health has co-hosted the Big South Conference Sports Medicine Symposium and is the official sponsor of all Bulldog youth summer camps.
"We are proud to extend our partnership with UNC Asheville and continue providing high-quality sports medicine care to their outstanding student-athletes," said Greg Lowe, CEO of Mission Health and Mission Hospital. "At Mission, we are committed to advancing health and performance through expert care, and this continued collaboration reflects our shared dedication to excellence, safety, and the long-term well-being of every Bulldog athlete."
