GILBERT, Ariz. - UNC Asheville Men's and Women's Tennis have earned academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), announced by the organization yesterday (Monday, July 21).

Both of UNC Asheville's teams received All-Academic Team honors, with the men's program earning the distinction for the fourth straight year and the women's team earning the honor for the 18th straight season. To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, a team must have a grade point average of at least a 3.2 for the entire year.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.5 grade point average for the current academic year. The following UNC Asheville student-athletes were named Scholar-Athletes:

Trevor Gray
Leo Kolbe
Tarek Erlewein
Alex English
Ari Siegel
Alexis Nyborg

Erlewein earned the award for the third time in his career while Ruecker, Lidholt, Gray, Kolbe and English each earned the award for the first time in their career.

Centeno and Sager each earned the honor for the third time in their careers, while Siegel and Nyborg each earned the honor for the second time in their career and Hug and Rensburg each earned their first career honor.
