ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville Athletic Department is excited to announce that the 2025 "Our Turn to Play" fundraiser dinner presented by First Bank is sold out.
"Our Turn to Play" is an annual event with a mission to highlight the accomplishments of women in collegiate sports and increase the scholarship fund for UNC Asheville female student-athletes.
"I want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who has been involved in organizing this event," said Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone. "Last year was record-setting in multiple areas, and our Committee is excited to build on that success to support our women's athletics."
Last year's event saw a record-breaking 425 individuals gather at Kimmel Arena in the Sherrill Center to champion Bulldog women's athletics. This unprecedented show of support, from both those present and those who couldn't attend but still contributed, led to a staggering fundraising total of over $330,000.
The money raised from last year's "Our Turn to Play" event also helped the Athletic Department activate the $1 million 1:1 matching challenge, which resulted in $2 million of new support for Bulldog student-athletes in one fiscal year.
This year's event will be held on Tuesday, April 29, with doors opening at 5 p.m. UNC Asheville Athletics has sold 50 tables and has already raised $180,000. This year's OTTP keynote speaker is Kristi Coleman, the CEO of Tepper Sports Entertainment and President of the Carolina Panthers. Debbie Antonelli will be returning once again as this year's emcee.
