Four Bulldogs Earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Honors

FULL COLLEGE SPORTS COMMUNICATORS RELEASE
 
GREENWOOD, Ind. - Four members of the UNC Asheville Women's Swimming and Diving team earned Academic All-District® honors from College Sports Communicators, announced by the organization today (Tuesday, Apr. 1). Seniors Grace Adams, Riley Edmundson, Caitlin Hefner and Julie Lahiff each earned the honor.
 
This is the third consecutive year that Asheville has had multiple swimmers and divers earn the award.
 
To earn the honor, a student-athlete must meet the following criteria:
· Must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically
· At least a 3.5 cumulative GPA
· Eligible individuals need to compete in four competitions OR finish top eight at a conference meet.

Adams scored in all three individual events at the 2025 ASUN Championships, finishing seventh in the 100 back, 10 in the 1650 free and 16th in the 200 back. Adams was also part of three top-five relay teams at the conference championship meet. Academically, Adams is a Political Science major with a minor in Legal Studies and Human Rights and a 3.908 grade point average. She has been named to the Dean's list for three semesters and the Chancellor's List for four semesters while also participating in Undergraduate Research.
 
This is Adams's first career Academic All-District honor. She is a native of Brooklyn, N.Y.
 
Edmundson finished third in the 200 fly for a bronze medal finish on the podium, fifth in the 400 IM and 11th in the 200 IM at the 2025 ASUN Championships. Academically, she is an economics major with a minor in psychology and a 3.92 grade point average. She has been named to the Chancellor's list for four semesters and the Dean's List for three semesters.
 
This is Edmundson's second career Academic All-District honor. She is a native of Flower Mound, Texas.
 
Hefner finished fourth in the 1650 free, 10th in the 500 free and 14th in the 200 free at the 2025 ASUN Championships, as well as being part of two top-five relay teams. She is a double major in Physics and Mathematics with a minor in Business Management and a 3.99 GPA. She has been named to the Chancellor's list for six semesters and the Dean's List for one semester.
 
This is Hefner's first career Academic All-District honor. She is a native of Mt. Holly, N.C.
 
Lahiff swam nothing but lifetime bests in at the 2025 ASUN Championships, with a sixth-place finish in the 400 IM, a ninth-place finish in the 200 fly and a ninth-place finish in the 200 breast. Academically, she is a double major in Health Sciences and Psychology with a 3.91 grade point average. She has been named to the Dean's List for four semesters and four semesters on the Chancellor's List.
 
This is Lahiff's first career Academic All-District honor. She is a native of Raleigh, N.C.
