Women's Swimming and Diving Takes Fourth at ASUN Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - UNC Asheville Women's Swimming and Diving took fourth at the 2025 Atlantic Sun Conference Championships on Saturday (Feb. 22) at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center. Asheville totaled 459 team points in the standings.

Caitlin Hefner paced the Bulldogs in the mile with a fourth-place finish in 17:04.39, while Grace Adams took 10th in a season-best 17:33.67 and Rose Sciaudone finished 15th in a season-best 17:58.78. Kathryn Walters (17:23.61) and Celine Petruschke (17:48.29) also marked season-best times in the event. Anna Marcotti finished 13th in the 100 free in a season-best time of 51.14, while Adams finished 16th in the 200 back in 2:10.09. Julie Lahiff finished ninth in the 200 breast in a lifetime-best 2:19.09, while Gracelyn Cox finished 12th in a lifetime-best 2:19.61. To round out the championships, the 400 free relay team of Caroline Crouse, Hefner, Beatrice Cocconcelli and Marcotti finished fifth in a season-best 3:26.01. Crouse swam a season-best 51.86 split in the race.

Marcotti qualified for the B final of the 100 free with a 13th-place finish in a season-best 51.34, while Olivia Ciancimino (52.48) and Amelia Presley (54.84) each swam season-best times in the event. Beatrice Cocconcelli also swam the event in 51.81. Grace Adams took 10th in the 200 back to qualify for the B final in a season-best 2:02.74, while Savanna Bush also swam the event in a season-best 2:07.11. Alessia Cunegatti also swam the event in 2:07.63. Lahiff swam a lifetime-best 2:19.78 in the 200 breast to finish 11th and qualify for the B final, while Cox finished 14th to qualify for the B final in a lifetime-best 2:21.12. Miriam Wheatley (2:22.46), Anna Kate Halligan (2:24.35) and Alyssa Jackson (2:25.37) also competed in the event.
