Men Fourth, Women Sixth in Big South Indoor Track & Field Preseason Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference released the Indoor Track & Field Preseason Poll, and the men are predicted to finish fourth, with the women predicted to finish sixth. 

Last season, the men's team finished fourth at the conference championships with Shemarr Session highlighting the Bulldogs by earning Freshman of the Year honors, and winning the men's 200m with a time of 20.82. His championship time set a new school record and conference meet record. Session also brought home silver in the 60m hurdles. 

Nkosi Jeju, in his first meet as a Bulldog, set a new school record in the long jump at 7.34m. 

Session and Joseph Oliver return from the men's 4x400m relay team that earned silver at the conference championships. Session, Oliver, Christopher Owens, and Jalen Anderson set the school record in the 4x400 with a time of 3:14.62. 

The men's team had 50 personal records during indoor season.

The women's team finished sixth at last year's championships. Isabel Richardson highlighted the women's team by breaking the school records in the mile (4:56.94) and the 3,000m (9:58.35). The women's team had 34 personal bests last season.

Asheville opens the indoor season on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, as the Bulldogs host the UNC Asheville Collegiate Opener at the new Tryon International Indoor Arena.
