CLEVELAND, Ohio - UNC Asheville Assistant Director of Athletics Advancement and Game Day Operations Anna Catherine Pritchard has been selected to the NCAA/National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD) Foundations of Fundraising Program.
Pritchard currently works with fundraising, gameday operations, special events and corporate sponsorships at UNC Asheville. Pritchard becomes the first staff member to represent UNC Asheville in this program. 30 individuals from across Division I to Division III are selected each year, with a focus on women and ethnic minorities.Â
"Anna Catherine has a strong desire to grow as a professional," said Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone. "We are thrilled that she was selected to attend this prestigious program."
The virtual sessions will take place from Jan.7-Mar. 5, 2025. The in-person sessions will take place at the 2025 National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and Affiliates Annual Convention, scheduled to take place June 8-11th in Orlando, Fla. The program curriculum will be delivered by faculty from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and the Mays Family Institute on Diverse Philanthropy, both of Indiana University. A key focus for curriculum content will be learner visualization of fundraising as a pathway to the opportunity to access senior-level positions in college athletics, particularly as an avenue to ascend to the athletics director seat. Upon completion of the program, the leaders will receive a certificate from the NCAA, Indiana University Indianapolis and NAADD. NAADD is the professional development/fundraising organization that is centered in the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.
"Professional development is an important area of focus within our athletics department at UNC Asheville and I am proud of Anna Catherine for taking the initiative to seek out this valuable opportunity," said Associate Athletics Director for External Operations Leigh Barton. "She is very driven and I am confident that she will take full advantage of what the Foundations of Fundraising Program offers."
"I am very excited to be a part of this esteemed program, I am looking forward to expanding my skill set to impact others through philanthropic giving in collegiate athletics," said Pritchard. "I am extremely grateful for my mentors throughout my career that have impacted me with success for this opportunity. I am looking forward to representing the Bulldogs during this program!"
Pritchard joined the Bulldog staff in December of 2022. She is a 2022 graduate of Appalachian State with a Bachelors of Science in Sustainable Development.
