USTFCCCA Release

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced the preseason edition of the NCAA DI Men's Cross Country Regional Rankings for the 2024 season on Monday (Aug. 26), and UNC Asheville men's cross country checked in at No. 15 in the Southeast.

Regional Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strength with current season results (if applicable) in determining a rank-order of squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. Teams with provisional status within the region may be ranked.

Last season, the Bulldogs entered the top 15 in the Southeast Region during week three of the USTFCCCA poll, following their performance at the Live in Lou Classic last September, where the team placed 14th. Last year's ranking was the first time the men's team has been ranked in program history. Asheville improved to No. 14 during weeks four and five, before finishing the season at No. 17 in the final ranking.

The No. 15 Bulldogs will begin their season on Friday, Aug. 30, at the Covered Bridge Invitational, hosted by Appalachian State.
