Women's Swimming and Diving Announces 2024 Signing Class

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Swimming and Diving welcomes its 2024 signing class to Asheville, announced by head coach Elizabeth Lykins today (Tuesday, June 11).
Savanna Bush | Denver, N.C. | Fly/Back/IM | Lowe's YMCA
Bush joins the Bulldogs from Denver, N.C., where she logged her career-best times in the 100 fly (56.67), 200 fly (2:08.66), 100 back (57.55), 200 back (2:05.77) and 200 IM (2:08.10). Bush will contribute as a utility team member bringing strength to all 200-distance races for the Bulldogs.
"Savanna's event versatility is one of the biggest upsides to this incredible addition," said Lykins. "We know she can contribute in so many different ways, it will be our job to see where she can impact the team the most! Can't wait to have Savanna on the pool deck as a Bulldog in the Fall."
Vivian Fougeron | Hobe Sound, Fla. | Diving | Coral Springs Diving Club
Fougeron comes to Asheville from Hobe Sound, Fla. where she registered a career-best 395.65 in the 1M - 11 dive event. Her change in teams at the start of 2024 has added an increased level of difficulty to Fougeron's lists. She has since improved her 3M and 1M lists to be more competitive at the collegiate level.
"We are excited to have Vivian join the Bulldog family in just a few weeks," said diving coach Matthew Macon. " Her enthusiasm for the sport and dedication to training will fit perfectly with the team. She has made huge strides over the last year and will keep pushing our team's difficulty and scores higher and higher."
Alyssa Jackson | Raleigh, N.C. | IM/Breast | TAC Titans
Jackson comes to Asheville from Raleigh, N.C., where she logged her career-best times in the 50 breast (29.55), 100 breast (1:03.22), 200 breast (2:18.91) and the 200 IM (2:06.13). Jackson will add depth to the breaststroke events and bring training numbers to the sprint free and Individual Medley groups.
"Alyssa was our first commitment to the Class of 2028; she will increase the depth of our medley relays and individual breaststroke events," said Lykins. "We are excited to welcome Alyssa to the mountains of western North Carolina!"
Celine Petruschke | Berlin, Germany | Free/IM | Wasserfreunde Spandau 04
Petruschke comes to Asheville from Berlin, Germany where she logged career-best times in these four events, all LCM: 200 free (2:05.18), 400 free (4:24.11), 1500 free (17:16.52) and 200 IM (2:21.77). Petruschke loves open water swimming as well and is looking forward to taking Asheville's distance free crew to the next level.
"We are ecstatic to have Celine joining the Bulldog family in August and look forward to the depth she will bring to our distance group," said Lykins. "While Celine's specialty is open water racing, she is more than equipped to translate her abilities into short course yards!"
Andie Quisumbing | Cary, N.C. | Fly/Back/Free | TAC Titans
Quisumbing joins the Bulldogs from Cary, N.C., having logged career-best times in the 100 fly (54.92), 200 fly (2:02.70), 100 back (56.56), 200 back (2:02.57) 50 free (23.86) and 100 free (51.94). Her versatile accomplishments will assist the Bulldogs in various ways dependent upon the opponent for the 2024-25 season.
"We are excited to welcome Andie to the Bulldog family as she was our final commit for the class of 2028," said Lykins. "Andie's experience across so many events is a huge compliment to this team; she will be a contributor in varying events throughout the season."
Kathryn Walters | Haymarket, Va. | Free | NCAP
Walters joins the Bulldogs from Haymarket, Va., having logged career-best times in the 500 free (5:04.21), 1000 free (10:22.44) and 1650 free (17:07.37). Walters will bring additional depth to the distance group, now five strong, for the 2024-25 season.Â
"Kathryn's time drops from her 2024 SCY season have moved her projections up the charts for the newest addition to the D-group," said Lykins. "We are excited to welcome her to the mountains of western NC in just a few weeks to join the Bulldog family."
