Three Bulldogs Earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Honors

FULL COLLEGE SPORTS COMMUNICATORS RELEASE

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Three members of UNC Asheville Women's Swimming and Diving have earned Academic All-District® honors by College Sports Communicators, announced by the organization today (Tuesday, Apr. 2). Caroline Crouse, Abby Parks and Riley Edmundson earned the honors for the Bulldogs.

To earn the honor, a student-athlete must meet the following criteria:
· Must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically
· At least a 3.5 cumulative GPA
· Eligible individuals need to compete in four competitions OR finish top eight at a conference meet.

Crouse holds three program records in the 200 IM, the 200 Free and the 200 Fly while earning a provisional NCAA B Cut earlier this season in the 200 Fly. She was an All-Conference selection in the 200 Free Relay finishing third at the 2024 ASUN Championships, while also finishing fourth in the 400 Free Relay and the 800 Free Relay. She has earned spots on both the Chancellor's List and the Dean's List in her college career, earning a 3.75 grade point average in psychology.

This is Crouse's first career Academic All-District honor. She is a native of Raleigh, N.C.

Parks holds school records as a leg of the 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay and the 200 Medley Relay, as well as the freshman records for the 50 Free and 100 Free. She earned All-ASUN Third Team honors in both the 50 Free and the 200 Free with third-place finishes in both events. She was a two-time ASUN Swimmer of the Week this season, while also earning a provisional NCAA B Cut in the 50 Free and being named to the 2023-24 Academic All-ASUN Team. In her career, she has also earned Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) All-Conference honors eight times, while also being named a 2022 CSCAA Second Team Scholar All-American. She has also been an active VITA certified volunteer for two years. She holds a 3.82 grade point average with a double major in accounting and economics.

This is Parks's first career Academic All-District selection. She is a native of Matthews, N.C.

Edmundson scored 43 points individually at the 2024 ASUN Championships, the most of any individual on the team. She also scored in three A finals, earning Third Team All-Conference honors in the 200 Fly with a third-place finish. She is the program's freshman record holder in the 200 Fly, and has also earned the team's Hardest Worker Award. She is a member of the Psi Chi Honor Society for Psychology, and has also made both the Dean's List and Chancellor's Lists in her college career. She volunteers with Laundry Love and also helps give swim lessons to disadvantaged youth in the area, in addition to being the UNC Asheville Swim and Dive team's mental health ambassador. She holds a 3.89 grade point average in economics, with a minor in psychology.

This is Edmundson's first career Academic All-District honor. She is a native of Flower Mound, Texas.
