Celebrating the December 2024 UNC Asheville Student-Athlete Graduating Class

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - A big congratulations to UNC Asheville's 13 student-athletes who walked across the stage today (Friday, Dec. 13) to earn their diplomas from UNC Asheville.

"We are so proud of these Champions and Leaders," said Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone. "From day one we always tell our student-athletes that the greatest championship earned at UNC Asheville is their diploma, and these Bulldogs certainly deserve that recognition today."

Nine of these individuals are members of the XAE Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society. Of this group of student-athletes, four will earn degrees in health and wellness promotion, two in environmental science and one each in environmental and biological sciences, sport industry management, political science, psychology, business and management.

10 of these graduates represent Men's Soccer, while the other three represent women's soccer.

"Graduation should always be the ultimate goal of every student-athlete, and today we celebrate 13 student-athletes who have completed their time at UNC Asheville with a degree," said Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Success Rebecca Nelms. "These students are from two different sports, five different countries, and represent nine different majors, but they now share the title of UNC Asheville student-athlete alumnus. We are grateful for their time at UNC Asheville, proud of their accomplishments, and confident their next steps will be successful with the skills and knowledge they have."
