Six Bulldogs Earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Six UNC Asheville Men's Soccer players have earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® honors, announced by the organization today (Tuesday, Nov. 19).
Myles Edmondson, Heath Flathau, Edvin Grolimund, Seth Hammond, Brendan Herb and Benian Yao each earned the honor for the Bulldogs. To qualify for Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must:
This is Edmondson's second career Academic All-District honor. He is a native of Oldham, Manchester, United Kingdom.
Flathau played in all 15 matches this season, making six starts on the back line. He tallied two shots with one on goal, playing all 90 minutes against ETSU on Sept. 24. Academically, he holds a 3.98 grade point average in health and wellness promotion and was named to the 2024 Big South Conference All-Academic Team.
This is Flathau's second career Academic All-District honor. He is a native of Hattiesburg, Miss.
Grolimund played and started in all 15 matches this season, scoring one goal and adding four assists for six points. He scored his lone goal of the season at Longwood (Oct. 26), while tallying assists against Stetson (Aug. 23), VMI (Sept. 1), at Presbyterian (Oct. 22) and at Gardner-Webb (Oct. 29). He played all 90 minutes on three occasions this season against Wofford (Sept. 10), at High Point (Sept. 20) and at Presbyterian. For his play he was named to the Big South Conference All-Conference Second Team this season. Academically, he holds a 3.67 grade point average in political science.
This is Grolimund's first career Academic All-District honor. He is a native of Arlesheim, BL, Switzerland.
Hammond played and started in all 15 matches this season, totaling four goals and two assists for 10 points. He scored goals against VMI (Sept. 1), the game-winner against Wofford (Sept. 10), at Davidson (Sept. 14) and in the Big South Conference Tournament quarterfinal against Longwood (Nov. 6). He also tallied assists at Longwood (Oct. 26) and at Gardner-Webb (Oct. 29). He played a season-high 81 minutes at Winthrop (Oct. 12). Academically, he holds a 3.65 grade point average in health and wellness promotion.
This is Hammond's first career Academic All-District honor. He is a native of Winchester, Va.
Herb played and started in all 15 matches this season, leading the team in goals with six and also contributing two assists for a team-best 14 points. He scored goals at Davidson (Sept. 14), ETSU (Sept. 24), at Presbyterian (Sept. 22), at Longwood (Oct. 26) and twice in the Big South Conference Tournament quarterfinal against Longwood (Nov. 6). He tallied assists against Davidson and also in the Big South Conference tournament quarterfinal against Longwood. For his play he was named to the Big South Conference All-Conference Second Team this season as well as the Big South Conference All-Tournament Team. Herb holds a 4.0 grade point average in economics.
This is Herb's second career Academic All-District honor. He is a native of Corvallis, Ore.

He scored the game-winner at Davidson (Sept. 14) and also notched one goal at Longwood on Oct. 26. He played all 90 minutes on five occasions this season. For his play he was named to the Big South Conference All-Conference Second Team this season. Academically, he holds a 3.73 grade point average in business.
