Asheville Cross Country Concludes Season at Regional Championships

MEN'S RESULTS
ROCK HILL, S.C. - The UNC Asheville Cross Country team competed at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships on Friday (Nov. 15), with the men finishing in 17th place and the women finishing in 25th place.
The men finished with 466 points, one place higher and 54 points lower than last year. The women placed 25th with 759 points, shaving an impressive 93 points off their 31st-place finish the previous year.
The men emerged as the top Big South team on the day. The Bulldogs finished just ahead of Charleston Southern in 18th place and High Point in 19th.

Paul Kiprotich polished off his phenomenal Freshman campaign with a 43rd-place finish in a personal best time of 31:15.7. His time comfortably puts him in third on the All-Time best list for Asheville. Adam Hessler holds the top spot (30:20.6) after his performance at the Championships last year.
Kiprotich was the first runner over the line across all nine Big South teams, with Hessler coming just behind in second place for the Big South.
Hessler produced a solid performance to come in 59th overall at 31:31.9. He was followed by Jan Málek, who came in 106th with his time of 32:28.2 (eighth fastest man from the Big South on the day). Also representing Asheville was Quinn Jaquez (120th, 32:42.4), Jonas Roach (148th, 33:16.2), Nate Sullivan (176th, 34:11.4) and Tadiyos Sloan-Westmoreland (187, 34:26.0).
The women's team finished fourth amongst Big South competition, ahead of Longwood (28th), USC Upstate (32nd), and Winthrop (34th).

Aneta Kucerová led the Bulldogs for all six kilometers to clock a personal best time of 22:57.7, 124th overall. Kucerová is now No.19 on the All-Time best list. Four Bulldogs hold spots on the All-Time best list, with Isabel Richardson at No.5 (21:53), Ella Moore at No.14 after the Furman Invitational (22:32), and Sophie Lundin at No.25 (23:17).
Moore and Richardson crossed the line neck-and-neck, finishing in 151st (23:23.9) and 152nd (23:24.1) respectively. They were followed by Sophie Lundin, who placed 179th in 23:54.1, and Alison Graf, who finished in 202nd with 24:26.0. In their first collegiate 6k, Addi Corl ran a time of 25:27.6 (230th) and Madeline Wittschen crossed the line in 25:59.7 (235th).
