Vivian Fougeron Named Atlantic Sun Conference Diver of the Week

FULL ATLANTIC SUN CONFERENCE RELEASE

ATLANTA, Ga. - UNC Asheville freshman Vivian Fougeron has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Diver of the Week, announced by the league today (Wednesday, Oct. 30).

UNC Asheville split its first two dual competitions since Hurricane Helene, beating VMI 251-42 and falling to Davidson 175-125.

Fougeron competed in her first collegiate competition, finishing third in both the one-meter and three-meter diving competitions. She scored 231.86 in the 1M and 221.55 in the 3M.

"After much disruption and delay, our divers finally had their first competition of the season," said diving coach Matthew Macon. "I could not be more proud of Vivian's performance not just at the first meet of the season, but her first college meet. Placing third on both boards against a strong and well-established Davidson squad and placing first on both boards against VMI speaks to the talent that Vivian has brought to Asheville and the depth she adds to our team. I am proud to have her as a Bulldog!"

This is Fougeron's first career Diver of the Week honor. The Hobe, Sound, Fla. native is a business major.

The Bulldogs (1-1) return to action Nov. 20-24, with the divers at the Tennessee Invitational and the swimmers at the Fall Frenzy Invitational hosted by Queens University of Charlotte.
