ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Athletics has announced a new partnership today (Thursday, Sept. 21), making Chick-fil-A the official chicken sandwich of Bulldog Athletics.
"We are very excited to have Chick-fil-A as the newest corporate partner in the Bulldog family," said Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone. "This mutually-beneficial relationship will allow Chick-Fil-A to reach more Bulldog fans and also allow Asheville Athletics to continue to expand its community presence."
In addition to being the official chicken sandwich provider of Asheville Athletics, Chick-fil-A products will be served inside Kimmel Arena this season for all Asheville basketball home games. In conjunction with Chick-fil-A, UNC Asheville will recognize a veteran or active-duty military member during every home men's basketball game as a "Hometown Hero". The hometown hero and their family will receive complimentary Chick-fil-A, premium seating, and Bulldog gear during the game. Asheville will also have mascot appearances at the location on Merrimon Avenue throughout the year.
"As proud fans, we are beyond thrilled to enter into this exciting partnership," said Joel Sellers, local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Merrimon Avenue. "We look forward to cheering on the Bulldogs with the Asheville community, and to serving delicious food to our guests inside Kimmel Arena."
