2023-24 UNC Asheville Swimming & Diving Schedule

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville swimming & diving team unveiled its 2023-24 schedule on Thursday. Coming off back-to-back undefeated dual meet seasons, the Bulldogs will open the 2023-24 campaign with an Intrasquad & Alumni Meet on September 22-23.

"We are looking forward to a strong and challenging schedule for the upcoming season with some new locations and opponents," said UNC Asheville Head Coach Elizabeth Lykins. "The team and staff anticipate formidable competition throughout the season."

Asheville will open its dual meet schedule with road matchups on back-to-back days on October 6-7. First, the Bulldogs will take on long-time rival Campbell at 4 p.m. on the sixth before visiting ECU for the first time in program history on Saturday.

The Bulldogs will return to Asheville to host Liberty on October 27-28, with the diving portion of the meet occurring on the 27th and the swimming to follow on the 28th.

Following their matchup with the Flames, the Bulldogs will have a double dual meet at VMI, where they will face not only the Keydets but also UMBC. Before Thanksgiving, Asheville's divers will head to Knoxville, Tennessee, for a three-day diving competition on November 15-17. The swimmers, meanwhile, will compete in Charlotte that week (Nov. 17-19) at the Fall Frenzy Invitational.

Asheville will have two more meets to wrap up the 2023 calendar year. First, the Bulldogs will host Georgia Southern on December 15-16. Like the one vs. Liberty in October, this meet will be split into diving on the first day and swimming on the second day. The team will honor their senior divers before the competition starts on the 15th.

The final competition of 2023 for Asheville will be the CSCAA Open Water Championships on December 17. This year's Open Water Championships will occur at FIU's Biscayne Bay Campus in Miami, Florida.

As the calendar moves to 2024, the Bulldogs will have back-to-back road meets to start the new year. Asheville will tangle with Gardner-Webb on January 12 before taking part in a double dual meet on January 20 against South Carolina and Duke in Columbia, S.C.

The team's senior swimmers will be honored before the final meet of the regular season on January 27 vs. UNC Pembroke.

Asheville's attention will then turn to Championship season. For the first time in program history, the Bulldogs will compete at the Atlantic Sun Swimming & Diving Championships on February 21-24 in Knoxville, Tennessee.

There will be a last chance meet on the campus of the University of Georgia on March 1-2 to qualify for the NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships. The 2024 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships will also occur in Athens on March 20-23.
