Big South Announces the 2023 Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  The Big South Conference released its annual Preseason Volleyball Coaches' Poll on Wednesday.
 
Asheville, which compiled an overall record of 4-22 and 1-15 in Big South play last season, was picked to finish eighth in the poll with 14 points. High Point was tabbed to win its fourth straight conference championship with 62 points and six of the eight first-place votes.
 
The Bulldogs, who will be under new leadership in first-year Head Coach Amber Haver, will have plenty of new faces on the team this fall. Overall, there will be 19 new players on the roster this fall mixed in with 11 returners.
 
Asheville will open the 2023 season with its annual home invitational. The invitational will take place on August 25-26 at the Justice Center. The Bulldogs will face Alabama A&M (1 p.m.) and Maryland Eastern Shore (6 p.m.) on Friday before closing out the weekend with tilts against North Carolina Central (Noon) and a rematch against Maryland Eastern Shore (5 p.m.) on Saturday.
