Asheville City Soccer Club is excited to announce a partnership with UNC Asheville on facility improvements at Greenwood Field. The project will include the installation of a new bleacher system with seating for over 500 additional attendees as well as ADA improvements to enhance accessibility at the 33-year-old facility.

"We're thrilled to work with the University to invest in Greenwood Field for the mutual benefit of the club as well as UNC Asheville's soccer programs," said Tim Blekicki, General Manager, Asheville City Soccer Club.

2023 SEASON SCHEDULE

"A brand new, permanent 500+ seat grandstand has always been a part of our soccer facility master plan, so to have the opportunity to work with Asheville City SC and make this important upgrade happen so quickly is a testament to our growing relationship. This is a huge win for UNC Asheville, Asheville City SC, and the entire local soccer community," added UNCA Associate Athletic Director Aaron Bessey.

The project is scheduled to be completed during the 2023 season. Temporary seating will be utilized until the project is completed.

UNC Asheville is embarking on a comprehensive Outdoor Sports Complex Capital Campaign that will be made public in the coming weeks. The campaign centers around UNC Asheville Athletics' charge to "Dream Bigger and Achieve More." Images provided are architectural renderings and may not reflect final design or materials.

The Blues will play in at least 13 home games across both the women's and men's teams at Greenwood Field. ACSC previously played on the campus of UNC Asheville in 2021 as the club returned to field from the cancelled 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Concessions, including local food trucks and beer sales will be available in the stadium.

Founded in 2016, ACSC was created as a way to help local players pursue their dreams and grow the game while using soccer as a way to give back to the community. Asheville City's women's and men's teams will return to play in the summer of 2023.
