ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville Head Volleyball Coach Amber Haver announced on Thursday the hiring of Audrey Volpatti as the program's new assistant coach.
"Audrey is an important addition to Bulldog Volleyball, and I couldn't be more excited to have her with me as we develop this program into a highly competitive contender," said Haver. "When I was brought in to lead the program, I knew it was imperative to hire an assistant coach with high integrity, who was not only passionate about pouring into the lives of young people, but also attentive to the technical side of teaching volleyball at a high level."
Volpatti comes to Asheville after working with Haver this past season at Columbia International University where she assisted in several areas in the program. In their lone season coaching together, Haver and Volpatti helped coach the Rams to a 38-9 record and won both the Appalachian Athletic (AAC) regular season and tournament titles. After hosting an opening round match of the NAIA National Tournament, CIU advanced all the way to the NCCAA Division I Championship match.
"Audrey has bought into my coaching philosophy and the vision I have for Asheville volleyball after playing for me briefly and working on my staff last season," Have added. "She will not only compliment that but will also have great creative input. Beyond that, I have gotten to see, firsthand, her tremendous work ethic, dedication, and knowledge of the game. Her attention to detail made her highly impactful on my last staff and will lend to her success here as well."
Volpatti is a 2022 graduate of Point University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a minor in Biblical Studies. A three-time NAIA National Scholar during her time as an undergrad, Volpatti is also enrolled in Columbia International's Master's program in Organizational Leadership.
