Swimming & Diving Readies for the CCSA Swimming & Diving Championships

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Fresh off its second consecutive undefeated regular season, the UNC Asheville swimming & diving team will compete at the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Swimming & Diving Championships from February 15-18 at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
 
Last Time Out – Asheville ended its regular season with victories over VMI (236-59) and Emory & Henry (204-51). With those two wins, the Bulldogs capped the 2022-23 season with a record of 9-0 in dual meets. Dating back to October 2020, Asheville has won 21 straight dual meets.
 
Championship History – This will mark the 11th time that the Bulldogs have competed at the CCSA Championships. Asheville is coming off a program-record third place finish at last season's Championships with a point total of 1,387.50 finishing behind only Liberty (1,830.50 points) and Florida Gulf Coast (1,586 points).
 
A 2021-22 Championship Rewind – As mentioned previously, the Bulldogs are coming off their best performance at the CCSA Championships last season. Asheville totaled 11 podium finishes at the Championships on their way to a third-place finish. Furthermore, Asheville notched its first ever conference champion as Caitlin Hefner posted the fastest time in the 1650-yard freestyle (16:47.40).
 
Championship Info/How to Follow – Each day of the CCSA Championships will feature two sessions. The prelims will begin every morning at 10 a.m. with the finals to follow later in the day beginning at 6 p.m. All eight sessions can be watched on ESPN+.
