Charlie Farrar Earns United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-Region Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - UNC Asheville junior goalkeeper Charlie Farrar was named to All-South Region Third Team by United Soccer Coaches, announced by the organization today (Tuesday, Dec. 5). Farrar becomes the first All-Region selection in program history.
Farrar was a mainstay in net this season for Asheville, posting a 10-4-3 record between the pipes with four shutouts. He ranked second in the Big South Conference in goals against average (1.26), second in saves (69) and second in save percentage (.758). He was named Big South Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 30 after a career-high 10 saves in the victory over Winthrop.
This is Farrar's first career All-Region honor, and he is also the first Bulldog in program history to earn Big South Conference Goalkeeper of the Year honors along with being a First Team All-Conference selection. He is a native of Wakefield, United Kingdom.Â
