Track and Field Announces 2024 Indoor and Outdoor Schedule

ASHEVILLE, N.C - The UNC Asheville Track & Field team announced the program's 2024 indoor and outdoor competition schedule on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will kick off their season on Jan. 13 at the University of South Carolina's Gamecock Opener.

Asheville will begin the indoor season with two trips to Columbia, S.C., before heading up to Virginia for a tournament at Virginia Tech, followed by a meet at Liberty.Â
The Bulldogs will return to Virginia for a third trip as they compete in the Big South Conference Championships Feb. 23-24 at Virginia Tech.Â
Pending qualifiers, the team or individuals will travel to Boston, Mass., to close out the indoor season at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships Mar. 8-9.

Asheville's outdoor season consists of five regular-season tournaments before the Bulldogs compete in the Conference Championships at High Point, May 22-25. The Bulldogs' first home track meet in program history highlights Asheville's outdoor season. The Bulldogs will host the Asheville Bulldog Invite on Saturday, Apr. 13, at the newly renovated Karl Straus Track.Â
The Bulldogs will kick off the spring season at Charlotte before heading up the road to Montreat College. The Bulldogs will travel to Knoxville, Tenn., for the Tennessee Invite for their third appearance of the season before returning to Asheville. Their final regular season meet will be in Atlanta, Ga., at Georgia Tech.Â
Pending qualifiers, Asheville's next stop following the Big South Championships will be in Lexington, Ky., at the East Prelims, and the National Championships site will be in Eugene, Ore.
"This year's indoor and outdoor schedule features some of the most competitive meets the program has competed in during my time at Asheville," Head Coach Joel Williams said. "The venues and teams we will be competing against will produce high-level competitive environments, and I am excited to see our athletes compete."Â
