Jade Canady Named Atlantic Sun Conference Diver of the Week

FULL ATLANTIC SUN CONFERENCE RELEASE
ATLANTA, Ga. - UNC Asheville senior diver Jade Canady has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Diver of the Week, announced by the league today (Tuesday, Oct. 10).
Canady was the highest-finishing diver of all the Bulldogs this weekend in the meet against East Carolina on Saturday (Oct. 7). She nailed a new dive in her list and had an strong showing for the first competition of the season. Canady also finished first amongst her teammates on the three-meter dive with a score of 203.48 and was top three amongst the Bulldogs with 191.03 on the one-meter dive.Â

"Our first meet of the season was led by our senior diver Jade Canady," said Asheville diving coach Matthew Macon. "She is truly a leader and cheerleader for the team and continues to push herself to be better. We dove full lists this week and included new dives on both boards for Jade. We're excited to see what the rest of the season brings."

This is Canady's third career Diver of the Week honor, and her first in the ASUN. The Huntersville, N.C. native is an art major with a K-12 education licensure.

The Bulldogs (1-1) are back in action Oct. 27-28 to host Liberty in a two-day event. Diving begins on Friday (Oct. 27) at 3:00 p.m. at the Asheville Jewish Community Center, while swimming takes place on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at the Justice Center Pool.
