UNC Asheville Student-Athletes Post Strong Fall Semester in the Classroom

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville's student-athletes posted a strong Fall 2022 semester in the classroom, announced today (Friday, Jan. 6) by UNC Asheville Athletics. Â
"Our student-athletes have demonstrated again this Fall their skill in balancing the time demands of sport and classroom," said Rebecca Nelms, Assistant Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Success. "More than 72 percent of our students earned above a 3.0 GPA, 70 were on the Dean's List and 42 earned Chancellor's list recognition with a perfect GPA. It is wonderful to see their hard work recognized."
The department's 16 athletic programs and 248 student-athletes combined for a 3.185 grade point average, while 179 of those made the Athletic Director's Athletic Honor Roll posting a 3.0 grade point average or higher. 70 student-athletes were named to the Dean's List for GPAs between 3.50-3.99, while 42 others were named to the Chancellor's List for a 4.0 GPA. Women's Tennis finished the semester with the highest GPA at 3.660, while women's swimming and diving was second with a 3.553.
