Adam Hessler named the Big South Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Wednesday that Adam Hessler of the UNC Asheville cross country team had been named the League's Men's Cross Country Runner of Week. It marks the first weekly honor of Hessler's career.
Hessler led the way for the Bulldog cross country teams in their first races of the season last Friday in Boone, N.C. At the Covered Bridge Open, Hessler finished 16th in the field that featured 146 runners with a time of 25:55.61. While Friday's time was not a personal-best for Hessler, his 8k time in Boone would rank as the 23rd-fastest in program history.
Hessler and the rest of the Bulldog runners will be back in action on September 17 when they compete at the Winthrop Invitational.
