2022-23 Swimming & Diving Schedule

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville Head Swimming & Diving Coach Elizabeth Lykins announced her program's 2022-23 schedule on Monday.

"The team and staff are looking forward to another competitive season in the pool and on the boards," said Head Coach Elizabeth Lykins. "With the change of location and time of year for the Collegiate Open Water Championships and the addition of a training trip to our schedule, we will alter the team's training schedule to accommodate both December competitions in Florida. We are also excited to host three meets plus the Intersquad/Alumni meet in the Justice Center as well as two diving competitions with our partners at the Asheville Jewish Community Center."

The 2022-23 season for the Bulldogs will open with an Intersquad/Alumni meet on September 17. The meet, which will begin 11 a.m., will be held at the Justice Center Pool.

Next up for Asheville will be back-to-back home meets. First, the Bulldogs will face off against ECU over the course of two days September 30 (Diving) and October 1 (Swimming). Three weeks after the tilt with the Pirates, the Bulldogs will take on rival Campbell on October 22 in its Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) in a swimming only meet from the Justice Center Pool.

As the calendar turns to November, Asheville will compete in a tri-meet against fellow North Carolina schools, Davidson and Gardner-Webb, on November 5. The Bulldog diving team will compete in the Wolfpack Diving Invite in Greensboro, N.C. from November 17-19, while the swimmers will be in Charlotte competing at the Fall Frenzy Invitational November 18-20.

The 2022 portion of Asheville's schedule will conclude with back-to-back competitions in Florida. The CSCAA Open Water Nationals will take place on December 18 in Miami. Two days later, the Bulldogs will take on CCSA foe Florida Gulf Coast on December 20 to wrap up the first half of the season.

2023 will open for Asheville with back-to-back CCSA meets. The Bulldogs will see Gardner-Webb again as the two rivals matchup on January 7 in Asheville. A week later, Asheville hit the road for a two-day meet at Georgia Southern on January 14-15.

The regular season will conclude with two senior day celebrations on January 20 and 21. The diving team will recognize its seniors in a meet vs. Davidson on the 20th before the swimming team welcomes Emory & Henry the following day.

Asheville will then compete in the CCSA Championships on February 15-18. The 2023 CCSA Championships will be held in Knoxville, Tennessee at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center. Hopefully with some stellar performances, the Bulldogs will be headed back to Knoxville on March 15-18 for the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships.
