RICHMOND, Va. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) recently announced that the trio of Abby Parks, Delaney Carlton, and Mikaela Fullerton of the UNC Asheville swimming & diving team earned CSCAA Second Team Scholar All-America honors. Parks, Carlton, and Fullerton are the first Bulldogs ever to earn this recognition.
Â
"Having three student-athletes selected for Second-Team Scholar All-America is an exceptional honor for this program," said Head Coach Elizabeth Lykins. "Not only did these women achieve outstanding success in the pool with their respective events, but they also earned exemplary grade point averages in the classroom for the 2022-23 academic year. The team and our staff are ecstatic to celebrate with Abby, Mikaela, and Delaney in this special recognition."Â
Student-Athletes qualify for CSCAA Scholar-All-America Second Team honors by holding a 3.50 grade-point average or higher while also achieving a "B" time standard for the national championship or participated at a diving zone qualification meet. Carlton and Parks both tallied NCAA 'B' Cut times in the 50 freestyle, while Fullerton did the same in the 100 breaststroke in 2021-22.Â
