Men’s soccer staying sharp in summer leagues
05.26.2021 | Men's Soccer
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – After one of its most successful seasons in recent memory, the UNC Asheville men's soccer team and its players are staying busy this summer, with 18 Bulldogs competing in summer leagues.
Asheville's returners are competing on nine different teams across two leagues: United Soccer League 2 (USL 2) and National Premier Soccer League (NPSL).
Playing in the spring due to COVID-19, the Bulldogs went 3-4-1 against Big South competition, grabbing a No. 4 seed to advance to earn the program's first semifinal appearance since 2008. Additionally, the appearance in the Big South Tournament was the first for the Bulldogs since 2016.
Asheville will look to build upon its season this coming fall, losing no players to graduation. Follow @UNCAvlMSoccer for the latest updates on the Bulldogs and their summer competition.
