ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville Athletics Department is proud to announce its Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Officers for the 2021-22 academic year.

Courtney O'Malley of the women's soccer team will serve as the SAAC President, taking over for teammate Bryson Lee who filled that role the past two years. Fellow soccer player Gillian Oyos will serve as the Vice President, with Amanda Blake (women's basketball) filling the role of secretary. For the second consecutive year, women's tennis athlete Taylor Love will be the SAAC Equity and Inclusion Officer, with swimming's Meredith Bunting filling the Volunteer Coordinator role and Nora Segurola (swimming) acting as the Creative Director.

Asheville would like to thank Lee, Cecilia Stack (Volleyball, Vice President), Ethan Tressler (Baseball, Secretary) and the track & field and cross country duo of Morgan Costelloe (Creative Director) and Madeline Nichols (Volunteer Coordinator) for their service in leadership in SAAC.

The SAAC is a leadership group consisting of student-athletes representing all sports at UNC Asheville. The UNC Asheville SAAC provides insight on the student-athlete experience and offers input on the rules, regulations, and policies that affect student-athletes' lives. SAAC members serve as a conduit of communication among student-athletes, coaches, and athletic administrators in an effort to improve the student-athlete experience.
